Those adapters in the link that you posted don't convert the pattern. I think you may need a 2 piece adapter to accomplish your goal. Just my opinion, it doesn't sound all that safe. Try contacting the people at the link below. I see they have a 5 lug to 6 lug adapter listed in their 2 piece conversion section. I don't see anything for a 5 lug to 8 lug conversion but they do make custom adapters. It may be expensive. I have purchased adapters from these folks before and they were nice.

Wheel adapters aren't the way to go for running 22.5's, I think your going to have to change the rear to get what you want. Your probable going to have to find a rear from an old motor home or truck that's already setup for duals. If it were me I'd change the rear just for the safety stand point. Can you see trying to stop those big wheels and tires with the smaller brake package of a nine inch rear....OUCH.....

(just my 2 cents)

I have never seen 5 bolt to 8 bolt adapters. I have used alot of adapters in extreme use in 4x4s without problems. But I don't think 5 to 8 is worth doing. It would be cheaper to have rims made anyway. As far as braking with a big tire, it is a workout, but you are not stopping the wieght of a big rig, however the tires weigh alot, and will wear brakes out faster. You can always convert to rear discs and stop them a little better.

As for adaptors lots of people are running them with no problems going from 8 lug dually to 10 lug semis. Looking at how they are made it should be possible to do the inside for your rearend. That said I don't think it would be safe. The added unsprung weight and dynamic forces is detrimental even on a one ton's suspension...I am also on a dually forum http://duallyscene.com/forums I think that Trevor would be the guy to ask as that is his business Tennessee Wheel & Tire 931-962-4646 M-F 8-5:30 cst

hope that helps

Personally I would get a rear that had the bolt pattern that you are looking for. What you are trying to acomplish is a pretty big jump and not going to be all that safe.
