Just a little project, nothing fancy.

Relocated a Blazer fuel tank to rear.
Filled all emblems.
`98 Silverado step-side bed.
Front and rear roll pans.
Front disc brakes.
5 lug wheels.
Rebuilt 350 with .488 cam, Pete Jackson gear drive, Performer intake, #487 heads, flat top pistons, blah...blah...blah.
B&M turbo 350 with 2800 stall converter.
Fresh interior (gray and black)

The bodywork is all done and I`ve jambed everything out.

Paint coming soon.... low gloss black.

Then it`s FOR SALE. :)

That bed does look like it belongs there, and I thought only sbc parts were interchangeable. That's a sweet combonation.

Looks like that bed was meant to be there.

Yea, the body lines line up almost perfectly. Just a little shimming and it`s right on the money. Kinda freaky, almost like Chevrolet designed it that way on purpose.
The bed only cost me $400 at the junkyard. It`s in real nice condition.

The first truck I`d ever seen done like this was way back in 1989 or so, right after this style bed was introduced.
It was on a `72 Chevy. The truck appeared fully restored and original (except the bed). The cool thing was, this truck had the wide, wood-grain molding and it really tied the bed and cab together.

Thanks for the compliments.

Now do the molding and install the 70's tail light's. COOL. I like that, I need a new box. There we go.

I put the tailgate on yesterday. I had to install / adjust all the mounting hardware and latches. I used a heat gun and removed all of the "CHEVROLET" decal lettering.

This truck is going to be ALL black, so I did a little body work on the grill shell and sprayed a couple coats of self-etch primer.

You probably can`t see it too well, but I also installed a fuel tank from a 71 Suburban between the rear frame rails. The original tank was mounted inside the cab, behind seat.
