Okay I bought a mid 70's 390. Will a trans from a small block ford work? Or what will work? want to keep it a automatic. Do i need to change the balancer? or anything else?

All info and help would be great,

No the bells are different. The C4 the bells can be changed and there use to be some bells that fit that trans for the FE motor. The C6 the bells are part of the trans and you would need a FE series trans.
