I'm am installing a B&M shifter in the 64 gasser today and am in in need of some help !! The old owner of the truck made a shift lever for it in use with a mustang 2 shifter. My question is how dose the lever come off the shift shaft of the trans ?

I think you have to drop the pan and remove a nut on the inside. You may have to lower the valve body. Not for sure on the valve body.
Option, take a grinder and grind the weld off the attached piece.

good luck,

The shaft come out from the inside of the trans. You will need to drop the pan and remove the valve body to do this.

The small shaft with the threads on it is for the kick down level and rides inside the shifter shaft.

If the shifter is design to be used with the original column shift I would just cut off the welded lever. If the shifter is desing for a floor shift lever I would try to use it on the welded piece.
