After waiting 6 months and falling into a boneyard 4L60E with 28K miles for $350 for the shop truck I fell into another deal. I had a 4L60E 4x4 trans out of a chevy trailblazer that had 200K miles on it. Good case but small reaction carriers and input shaft etc. I had a 05 Hummer come in that blew the 2-4 servo out of the side of the case. It is a 4L65E (1 more 3-4 clutch plate and 5 pinion reaction carriers = stronger). case was junk. aftermarket warranty just replaced the trans. SOOO.... I took all of the internals out of the Hummer trans, swapped them into my case, had to buy a 2WD output shaft ($42) and a filter ($35) and add my 2WD output case that I had kicking around. Scrounging around the shop netted me all new clutches, steels and band and another core scored me a 14K miles torque converter. So here is my second rebuilt 4L65E 2WD trans for $77. This will go into my 35 for PU with a 6.0L LS based motor. [cl

The site of those Kent Moore tools brought back memories..

You can tell that's a GM shop..... that trans fixture and bench mount really work slick..... they look well used..... good score on the parts.... that's what I loved about turning wrenchs in the dealership... could hoard parts for one build or the other..... [cl
