probably ending in 638 or 878....

The numbers you are looking for should be on the block behind the left head (D.S.)
But I can tell what those numbers are. 5.7Lg -is a 350 block. SGI -is the metal used to cast the block.

You got one of the mystery blocks.
It is a 1986-1994 One piece rear main seal.
Here the mystery :
It either a Roller or flat tappet cam, 2 or 4 bolt mains, Car or truck block.

When did chevys quit with suffix codes?
Remember,they used to be stamped in front of riders side head.You could decode those with the old motor manuals.
