Has an aluminum body and clear lens

looks alot like a fender light a friend has on his 1930 p/u but not sure if it was original or if he just put it on there

It has a clear lens so it is made to light something up, not a signal. I think too big for a map light. Any other ideas?

seems like back in the late 60's and early 70's j. c. whitiney (spelling) had them in their rag.
