Ford, What year?

Trying to nail down the year. I bought the axle and need to do a brake kit.

I think it is a 47

46 to 48 for sure, judging by the tag, the number 47 in there is likley the clincher.

Ford brakes are the same 1939 to 1948.

what dmw56 said. If you really need to know what year it is you need the ID (VIN) number on the frame.

46 or 48 cause 47 had a single big piece of trim across the trunk that said FORD didn't it?

Similar, but not the same. '39-'41 brakes and backing plates are a different design than '42-'48. They will both interchange on '37-'48 spindles, but the internals, adjusters and shoes are different from each other.

But yeah, like I said in your previous post the axles you showed were '46 or '47. They were equipped with lever-action hydraulic shocks. In '48 Ford went to a tube-style shock and the axles have a mounting hole between the kingpin and spring perch boss.
