Need help to ID these cowl lights

I have this pair of cowl lights they have a jewel on the side one has a green jewel the other is red. Does anyone know what thes came off of?

My immediate thought would be a boat because of the red/green jewels. I think it's illegal to run a green light on a car anyhow.
 
I know Studebaker use a green and red jewel in their cowl lights in the 1920's I was thinking thats what these might be from also.
 
Red and green also used on aircraft, but I don't think they're off a WW2 bomber. :D

Any markings or tags? Inside the housing maybe?

those jewels look like the old blue dots....not a clue but cool none the less!!
