I thought I'd show you guys some pics of my "first" project which, after 3 and 1/2 years since starting, is nearly done. It's a '53 Chevy 210 4-dr.

Here it is as I bought it. As you can see the suspension was all wrong. It had an El Camino front clip put in and rear axle together with the 4-link and coil springs.

Remember that this was also before I came to like hot rods and rat rods and customs.

The El Camino suspension b.t.w. was from the Australian version which has the same suspension as the Holden cars. Here you can see the crappy rear-end install and why I took it out for the Jaguar IRS also shown.

I have done quite a lot more work and assembly since these pics but havevn't taken any "external" pics. I think I'm gonna wait with that until I'm done and ready for a test drive.

The motor is a 350 SBC with a 700R4. Together with the 3.07 rear-end it will make for low cruising rpm's at highway speeds.

If you guys want to see more detail on this build you can check it out on my site in the Project Journals section.

Wow, the car has come a long way. looking good..

I don't think I would have trusted that old rear end set up..
those upper link mounts didn't look good at all

Neophyte; I like that Jag rear. That is what I put in my 50f1. I would sure like to see how you make you traction bars, and hook them to the frame. And your anti-roll set up on the rear to keep it from riding up under heavy power. Be sure to post pics when you get it done. Thanks

Wow, you really did a nice job on the whole thing. I love the way the frame and suspension came out in that blue. :)

Keep us posted as you progress on it please.
