This is TOO easy .
1 ] If you have a title from another state just take it to the Secretary of State [ SoS] office . The cost is $ 15.00 and no tax if in your name
2] Bill of sale . Take a bill of sale with Vin# written on it OR better yet have a Michigan form TR-205 Bill of Sale

To the SOS . They will look up the Vin# to see if it is stolen , they may ask you to come back the next day .You will also need the CURB or SHIPPING [ Actual ] weight of the vehicle , this is NOT the Gross Vehicle Weight [GVW] , They can look up a lot of the weights because they save them as they get them but if they can not find it be prepared with credible evidence of actual weight from the internet / shop manuals / or you can take the car to a certified scale and have it weighed .
Also you will be asked what you paid for the vehicle , do not low ball them , they are not stupid , the tax you will pay is worth it for a CLEAR title
The beauty of this is that you keep the vin # that is already on the vehicle
You will leave with all your paper work and have the title in about a week
