Lokar linkage help

Need some help here Ford people!!!!!!!!!
I have a new Lokar shifter and the directions are not showing me where one of the parts go. I assume it is a part of the new linkage on the FMX trans but not sure. It's the only piece left to install. It appears the threaded linkage rod goes into the end of it.
The part in my hand in picture #1 is the one I am wondering about.
It is Sunday and I dont care about the Superbowl and Lokar tech support is closed, so I want to finish my tunnel fab work.

Well, not sure but it looks like you have to drop the pan and remove the old shift arm and install this new piece. Don't take that as gospel, but I see no other thing it would do.

Don't the directions say anything? I'd like to stick around to see if we can come up with an answer, but I am leaving for a SuperBowl party. Go Steelers.

I think you are right Don. The shaft looks alot bigger than the factory one though. I think that is what was throwing me off. I am going to go and drop the pan and have a looky.
