Steering
So I'm rethinking my steering setup. Really wanted the cowl steering, had a mopar manual box, and everything pretty much built. But the inspection guys here do not like any welding on steering.
Can't do cross steer since I flipped my spindles suicide style due to the travel I need with my bags. push pull style is still my only option, just need to move the box out onto the frame rails. Looking for suggestions on a small steering box |
F-1, reversed Corvair, Mustang, AD Chevy, VW bus, etc. Lots of 'em out there...

Im thinking of trying to use my Mopar box(68 roadrunner) but I cant seem to find a pitman arm for it thats straight or doesnt have the rod end built into it.
Any ideas? |
What's wrong with a rod end? (I'm reasonably sure your inspectors won't like a Heim end.)
I have no idea what fits or works with your box... maybe try Flatla in Tilley... he's a Mopar guy and might have a solution for you. http://www.flatlaautowrecking.ca/ . |

Yup inspectors don't like helms. Issue with the rod end built into the pitman is how do you attach it to a tie rod. With a a threaded tie rod end I can thread it into a threaded rod and then insert the tapered end into the pitman. If that makes sense.
