nice start! the door fit is crazy!

almost looks like a real truck.

one out front tire, one next to hood, what one looks better:confused:[S

so many choices at this point, rear engined in the bed, C 0 E shortie, bobber or ??????

more mock up with a 1948 ford bed from a leftover project of my friend.

Shotrod gonna need some 12 gauge and brass figured into the build. I'm think'n single shot break open with wood stock for a shifter.

Either move the cab back until it almost hits the rear wheels - with a super short bed. Or do a mid engine (Lil Red Wagon) with the cab moved forward until the front wheels are almost into the door, with a long bed.

maybe somthing along these lines Sam:

l have a five foot long old mining/ore cart l was thinkin' might be a viable option. l like it over the ford bed personally.

gives me 92'' to 97'' center to center of wheels, so about 5'' to play with the wheelbase till it looks right.

Are you thinking you'll put the engine in the front or back? Looks like it will take some creative thinking to fit a drivetrain with the dimensions you have to work with :)

score:D

just got off the horn with my cousin, he is abigger pack rat than me---friday road trip[cl

P2O5 divorced transfer case and mid 198O's toyota 2 wheel chassis donated to the project, he likes the rear engine idea so here is his contribution to truck build:D

looks like l will be using the longer bed since engine/trans in the bed unless l do some fancy measuring, hope to use the short one, we will see as l progress.

we will mount the transfer case vertical instead of horizontal---3:O8 gears in 4 high, kick in 4 low, 6:O4 gears with the p 295/60 15's. 2 shifters in the cab, that outta confuse people.

Gear Ratios: High Range 1.00 : 1 (direct drive)
Low Range 1.96 : 1

be weird, open the hood and see the transfer case and drive shafts.

ya know, for a build l wasn't planning to do anytime soon, it sure is piling up a lot of parts fast.

So you'll have the engine and trans backwards and use the transfer case like a V-drive? In 2-wheel wouldn't it feed power straight through and not transmit any to the rear? I'm missing something or thinking of it wrong here. [S

This will be a real interesting build!

my bad, gotta run it 4 wheel high/low to get power out, l will edit the top to read correctly:eek:

anti-theft device, leave the TC in 2 wheel and it'll be like in neutral and also have a neutral , no go anywhere when shifted in those positions.

Later

driver

driver door about the same work to make fit, a few more dents, though.

trans tunnel turne backwards to make a driveshaft run thru is outta 1966 chevelle l parted out in 1982 and a rusty/crusty oil pan should be good for the tunnel.

Those Toyota frames are strong, fully boxed end to end. Only bad thing is the front steer, the box is way out in front of the tires, and the rear springs go way behind the rear tires. I’m sure you’ll figure something out!
