The Scottsguard photo shows Hwy 13 in better condition than it is currently.

I believe it. You know better than I do, some of our highways are terrible!

Doc, some of your slides from the previous page, Sask town pics look like they could have been pics from the set of Corner Gas - Dog River :D:D

Many prairie towns look just like the next one. :D Rouleau (Dog River) is only 40 minutes from my door. I never went there to see the set, which I kinda regret now that it's gone!

Last week I found these pictures of my dad`s old bookshop in 1955. Nice art nouveau style building. Builders went through in 1968... looks a wee bit different nowadays

Cool pics Dutch. Love the architecture.
Here's a pic of my second Model A pick up. 300 Ford 6 powered. Was still working on the box so put trailer fenders and a wood box on it for a while.

Back 3 or 4 decades ago, my brother lived in Kansas. Every day on his way to and from work he would drive by this abandon house and car. He stopped to look at the '66 Nova SS. It had expired Florida plates on it Eventually he stopped at the cop shop to inquire about the car. The told him to just take it. He was able to retitle it in Kansas. I bought it from him and drove it home. Several quarts of oil later it was in my garage. It received a 350/350, bodywork and a new black paint job. The seats were reupholstered.

Late one night my daughter was driving home in the Nova and she was run off the road, stuffing it into a ditch and bending it in half. Too much for me to fix so I sold it.

I still have the front tag from it. it says, "Arrive Stoned"

It's one I'd like to have back, before the crash.

Good story with an unhappy ending, bob. :(

I'm surprised the law told your brother to "just take it".

In the 80's I drove by an obviously abandoned car several times until I just couldn't stand it any longer. I then copied the serial number and made some inquiries. Long story short, the number was not registered, reported stolen, no records, nothing. It legally belonged to nobody but I was told (in no uncertain terms) it was not my property either and not to pursue it any further. I suppose a cop took it for himself, or it went to the crusher. '62 Bel Air bubbletop.

.

Yes Doc., my brother must have had to jump through some hoops to pull it off. Around here they auction them off. The town is so small they probably didn't collect enough abandoned cars to have an auction.

Too bad you couldn't collect that bubble top. What a prize.
