I finally got my own rat truck project yesterday! I found it on Craigslist about 50-60 miles away from my place. My friend took me out there and I drove it home, with only one issue that came up. About 20 minutes after we left for home a dry rotted tire decided to finally blow out. Luckily my friend's brother was able to bring us a wheel and tire (and extra one just in case). There was also a slight coolant leak, but itdidn't hurt anything. Other than the tire mishap, the ride was better than one could hope for. Anyways, enough story telling, on with the truck. 1965 Ford F250 352ci 4 speed.

nice truck, got any plans for it so far?

Right now I'm just doing little things to make it pass state inspection. Eventually I want to lower it by cutting the front springs and removing some leaves from the rear. I can get a set of steel wheels (16x7) for $50, and I'm hoping that some 700-16 whitewalls will fit (I'm not sure if the wheels are too wide for the tires). I want to paint the wheels flat black. The cab is either going to be flat red or flat black. If anyone has tips, tricks, advice, suggestions, ideas, or anything that will help I would greatly appreciate it.

Well I have made some forward progress on my truck. I got it licensed finally. I also got the wheels painted and tires mounted. I couldn't (and didn't want to) afford the Coker white walls at $200 a piece. I have also done a mild cam swap with new lifters and timing gear/chain set. I also cut the springs, but stupidly I cut them too short and the I-beams are resting on the frame rails. It looks kinda cool so far, but the camber is way out. I will try to post some photos within the next couple days.

I don't recall exactly what that suspension looks like, but it might be possible to lower the spring buckets on the frame, ( 4 bolts and only use two, then add some steel under the buckets.) , and get some suspension back.

Got a couple pics

Well we had some internet problems and then I have been pretty busy but I can finally post some pictures. I also got a few more things done. I (my friend did all the work) got some exhaust put on. I rebuilt the carburator and cleaned out the gas tank as best I could. Right now I'm kind of at a point at which I'm not sure what to do next. I know that I would like to chop it and possibly section depending on how much gets chopped. The hurddle there is I don't have the equipment to do that kind of stuff. I also need to figure out what to do with the suspension to lower it.
BTW the wheels are a flat black with a few coats of dust from our gravel road.
