Got lots of details wrapped up lately. Got the wiring al tidied up, under dash stuff finished, brakes finished and bled, front door latch hardware cleaned up and installed, and the driver seat in. Lots of other stuff too but that’s the highlights. Just about down to putting in the glass, painting the grill and bumpers, and doing a test drive.

Thanks! I’m sure it’ll get a new home eventually but not for a bit. Been thinking a lot about my dad lately. He passed in 1992 but his pride and joy was a 1976 Suburban. It was the newest vehicle he ever had, bought it when it was 2 years old and it got scrapped the year before he died because it had rusted away to nothing. Now that the square body Chevy trucks are getting popular, I’ve been thinking about building a copy of it as a tribute vehicle. After a good break from finishing this one, that is.

Tedious work this weekend. I had door hardware from 8 different doors for the side and rear doors that was rusted and clogged with old paint. Was able to clean it up and got enough parts to get all four doors functional. Also got my exhaust on. Beat the dents out of the bumpers and grill and got them painted.

As soon as the glass is in and the mirrors are on, it’s pretty much ready to drive.

All done; been cruising it around this week and doing a few final adjustments on the steering, brakes, etc. Gave it a bath and headed to the local show tonight.
