the rear quarters were started last night, real rough looking right now.
when finished they will look like factory.........[cl

the one thing l will probally get a lot of question on, how come l sealed up or don't have a rear door. custom ordered that way[ddd

mastercylinders/brake/gas pedal

l mocked up the master cylinders today and the placement for the fuel pedal and brake pedal. running two single chamber master cylinders, 1'' bore for the front and 7/8'' bore for the rear. the balance bar under the the dash that attaches the master cylinders to one pedal has a 15% angle so the front brakes engange a fraction of a second before the rear brakes. hard lines next, fuel, brake etc.

then motor is going is going to be mocked up next, that's the ugly one ya see in the picture. the one going in for real is a 400hp small block chevy and is painted black with lots of chrome goodies, [chrome makes it go faster] and then steering coloum, then wiring and on and on it goes.

taking longer than l hoped, but if l want it nice, ya pay the price.

worked on the exhaust tonite. came up with a set of T bucket headers.
they stuck out to far and interfered with steering, when the tires tried to turn, they hit the front pipe. the pipes also stuck out to far for my liking.
we cut the tubes; 5'' out of the front, 4 1/2'' out the middle and 4'' out of the back.
this matches the angle of the frame and tucks the exaust under the body so it won't burn peoples legs getting in and out.

Later[dr

where did you get those headers from lol

progress yesterday

l got the heater in yesterday and the transmission cooler mocked up.

ya, l got 2 coolers for the trans, a regular style and a heat sink finned one. the heat sink style is because it has a filter and the extra cooling will help on cruz nites and long trips.

the heater is out of a 1948 Dodge truck. the fan motor is a 6 volt so l have to run a voltage reducer to the heater moter so it don't burn it up.

raditor is set in to get an idea of how the grille shell will line up and if l have to make mods to get it to work with the rods that attach to the firewall so the whole assembly don't end up falling into the fan.

heater pics

one nice vintage heater, hate gettin old. never needed a heater before but now health reasons dictate a lot of my build's direction:(

example; selling the roadster body and building the dodge because of the inclosed driver area.

hose and odds & ends

l mocked up the exhaust today:D.... because the chrome tips, with the built in mufflers, that l am using are 3 1/4'' around, we have to build some special mounts to attatch the mufflers at the lip of the rear wheel wells. since no one makes what l need, more fabbing this week[;)

l used 3'' semi-truck exhaust pipe to extend the header collectors to mufflers.

when we get the exaust all finished, l will post pics.

guage panel

the top guage panel is part of the roof off a 1966 elcamino l parted out.
it's the front piece by the windsheid. l cut it at the chrome/top line where they meet. that had just a little bit of an angle, the fit is perfect where the dodge tipped in at the place where the inside roof is attatched to the outside roof:eek: got lucky and didn't even have to do much trimming to get it to fit:D

altenator change

I changed my mind and redid the altenater bracket, l didn't like the way it looked so it's been moved it to the driver's side. this helps to eliminate a bracket and makes it look cleaner.
