Seen much worse Skull....

At least it LOOKs like it serves a purpose....can't say that for some of the ones I've seen "fabbed" up....lol :D

yeah

the switch it's holding is the brake light actuation device and the lever is pushed down by the brake pedal to make the lights go on. anyhow, that's the theory.

good progress

got the hole in the top of the cowl filled in & figured out the alternator bracket. l had to change fans with the brackets weer using, the other fan just wasn't fitting correctly.

we fabbed the alternator bracket outta hood brackets l had on 2 of the old craftsman lawn mowers we keep for parts. tomorrow l will take it all back apart to paint it.

also got the steering wheel quick release welded on so the steering wheel will work.

grille

put the grille shell on and set in the grille and it makes a lot of difference on how it looks:D

scored a really nice looking overflow can, so l mounted to side of grille shell, fits perfect.

l had to add a 2'' spacer to the steering wheel so my fingers don't smack the dash when turning.

unintended

the law of unintended consequences has bit me in the butt big time..

l had to get a new water neck, the O degree straight up style, to clear the alternator the way we mounted it and now none of my air cleaners fit because of them not clearing the radiator hose. l hate having to run small cleaners, they just don't flow well and look tacky.

0H WELL, what's life without a challenge, havta figure it out in the next few days.

hoser

l found a 3/4 size oval air cleaner l had stashed for ten years to go on a 'nother project(the 57 chevy, but l'll put the bigger one on her) & figured out PVC and heater hoses.

just little things today, but they need done too.

defiantly have to touch up the firewall.

braided

used to help clean up the the looks, the real braided stuff is real pricey, so to clean up the ugly black hoses l used this stuff.

l got tons of it from a parts store that was changing ownership from a local store to a nationwide chain store so they was closing out a crap load of things they no longer were going to carry.

you no like the braided look D R:confused:

Eh, I like the black hoses better actually... This is one of the areas that maybe most people will disagree with me, but the people who actually care what is on your ride will know its fake, and the quality of the fake stuff really isn't that great to begin with.

I'll close my yapper now, its all about what you want for your ride =)
Carry on! =)

it's shiny, so it fascinates me:rolleyes:

that's cool D R, l asked and around here we voice our thoughts and know it's not maliciousness like some sites, just good ole people all getting along, that is why this place is THE BEST[cl

everbody has different ideas/opinions on what looks good, personally, l can't stand white walls on about 95% of the rides people put them on. but it is their's so in the end it's a choice by the owner/builder to put them on or not.

more little stuff today & tomorrow help is arriving so l can put on the body to frame mounts:D

primed

l got the motor primed today with a old points distributer shaft & a 1/2 drill.

45 PSI is plenty to get oil all over inside the passages.
