Question 226 flathead ford??

I was wondering if anyone on here is running a ford 226 flathead in their rod? I was planning on running the standard sbc, but my dad is street roddin his 51 ford f1, and his motor and 3 speed trans are in perfect condition. Is there any performance parts out there for that engine? I have looked and cant find any. By the way this is my first post so I guess I should say it is going in my 47 dodge truck, I will post some pics when I finish up my chop to hopefully tomorrow.

just do a google search and you will come up with a few places. i know van pelt has some performance stuff. also i think there is another place that has a blower or supercharger for it. i cant think of the name and i cant find it online right now. just keep looking. my ford has a flathead that i am going to upgrade the performance with once i get it running in the first place.

Default 226 Ford

Welcome.
If it is a flat 6 out of a truck it may be a 254. Looks close to the 226 but the oil pan is shaped different. I am using a 226 out of a 50 Deluxe with the orginal 3 speed trans behind it in mine. Speed parts are out there depends what you want to do. And as you know they cost a little $.
