Model A spindles are safe, T spindles are likely not.

These is a spacer ring available, to fit later hydraulic brakes on Model A spindles.

True, but then you have a spacer ring on your spindle and slotted holes in the brake backing plates. They are also nowhere near as beefy as a '37-'48 spindle. No reason to gamble on suspension or braking components...
