Can't think of a worse thing to happen to a father. So sorry for your loss. That's going to be a great tribute truck.

sorry

l know the pain of losing a son, and yes, finishing the truck is great therapy.

finishing my son's truck it helped me to move on with my life because when l drive the truck l feel closer to him. the response people give helps the healing process and sharing the story with others and the love of the truck will greatly help with you're well being.

l learned it's hard to not talk to people when l take JR's truck out, you have to be polite and sociable with the public couse lot of them want to look and talk about it and l think you will find this good for the soul, l do.

so please keep us updated,

Later

Thanks to all for the kind words. I hope to get started back here pretty quick. I a couple things to finish up in the garage, then it's hitting it full bore!

Sorry for your terrible loss. It will be a very good thing when that hemi fires up and rumbles again. The spirit of both grandpa and your son will be there with you. RIP.

Well, got the garage straightened out enough to back on the boy's '52. Started by cleaning it out, sure can fill up with junk in 3 or 4 years. After that, I reassessed the floor situation, which was actually just a staring session. I did some measuring and started cutting away. Not a lot of progress, but finally got myself to get started. Hopefully I will be able to get to posting some progress

Also sold my "street legal Yamaha WR450 to buy an Enderle 8 stack fuel injection for the Hemi. It was something my son was planning on doing. He was constantly texting pics of old Hemis with the old Hilborn and Enderle stacks. I am actually going to convert it to EFI to help with the streetability.

Got the 4-speed hump added to the trans tunnel today. I think the floors are in enough to pull the cab and finish them from the outside. Finally looks like some progress.

Pretty work on the floors. [cl
I had to go back and look at the earlier posts to see why there was a box where the pedals go. I will be watching to see how you deal with the pedals.

Yes, the pedals are gonna be a bit tricky. The steering box actually sits right behind the box, pedals are coming from the floor about in the original location, but we'll see how this all works out....fingers crossed.[S

Just a suggestion you may want to re think a welded transmission cross member, I did the same on my Essex then realized there is no way to pull the trans with out the motor and cuz you can't drop the back of the motor and trans you have to pull everything off the front the vehicle to get any of it out.[;)

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. When I get the cab back off, I have to put in a couple more crossmembers and drive shaft loops, so I was going to rethink the trans crossmember as well.[;)

Decided to start the top chop before pulling the cab off. Started by removing 5" from the back of the cab. My son and I had talked about doing a wedge chop, so I'll get the back buttoned up and see where it goes from there.
