Well I have not been on here for quite some time so I hope I'm welcome back ! I have the 51 Nash wagon as some of you might recall ! Well I also have another one that I decided to build before the first ! I started with the thought of cutting off back and making a pickup ! I will post pics later !

pics of chop off !

I cut off back and used an extra Nash windshield for rear window ! Ill post more pics later when I get down loaded !

I have seen a few old station wagons turned into pickups by whacking off the back end and screwing on a chunk of plywood with a cutout for a back window.
Yours looks MUCH better.

Well.... Mr. Gusset....being a longroof lover, I'll have to admit when you
started cutting I thought...oh no, but..... I think I like your vision, so
whack on [P[P[P

Thanks everyone for positive comments! My initial thought all along has been "Build a Freak" so along with the "truck look " I wanted a freaky power plant ! Sooo I bought a 1971 Eldorado with a 500 CID engine and also use transaxle ! IN THE BED !

Gussett,
I've used those clamps like you did on the roof but the gap is so big I can never get my welder to close the gap & burn through all the time. How do you get that to weld that well? [S

Caps

So where the top was cut off needed capped ! So I cut a few pieces and welded them on ! I'm not happy with rear ones due to a previous body line I left in so I will put a cut in it later and pull out flush and reweld

This pick up will only be haulin' "one thing". :D

Well, I guess there will be room for a suitcase and beer cooler under the hood.

Very nice work on the back window. That is an area that often gets botched.
