10/26: merc fired for two seconds till the carb started pouring gas. Do I get one star for that two seconds?????????????????
 
That First Start Up is important because it gives you a surge of enthusiasm to get the car finished; kinda like the big reward. The First Long Run is different and also rewarding, but not like The First Start Up. Congratulations.

Thanks everyone. Still not running. Been working on another project, a 78 elky. Mite start a new tread on this one.
 
I think I messed up the gear drive and dist. Well heck, I do not really know. The cold has me slowed to a crawl.
 
old and new parts in dist. gear drive too noisy etc. and my starter messed up.I am thinking that stupid motor just don't like me.
 
It did not beat me. Changed the starter and retimed it and it fired right up. Bunch of small stuff to check out. At least it will start( had to open the cut outs to hear it rumble) yeah.
