Default Windshield washer nozzle dilemma

I bought a pair of windshield washer nozzles for my Ford, and they spray really well...right at the cowl. So I ordered some stainless steel nozzles for a '57 Thunderbird, that looked like they had a better angle. They spray over the top of the car. So I'm wondering if there is such a thing as an adjustable nozzle, that I can adjust the angle on to hit my windshield without trying every nozzle ever made. The stock one on this car was in the middle of the hood. I drilled holes in front of each wiper in line with the original nozzle, but the curvature of the hoop is playing havoc with trying to figure out what to try next.

How about tapered shims? Shave some nylon washers?

I had actually though about tapered shims. I may try that before I do anything rash.
