We don't want time running out. Do like the grin, radio and cool collection of goodies around. Nice write up in the ad. Wish I had the dough and room for it.

thanks burrrg and torchie!

its headed north! I did some final work on it and saturday is the day.

first thing, the temp gauge stuck on C. the original gauge is still installed and working, and it showed 160 degrees and thats it. I talked with con2r and they said the C was 160. so I figured maybe the thermostat was stuck open. 10 minute job for EVERYONE ELSE BUT ME. snapped the thermostat housing bolts, first one then the second AFTER I spent time searching for a single replacement, just to be sure I had to find a second.

but the reward was the gauge moved off C almost immediately after arming up, and by the time I got where I was going on the test drive it was dead center on the gauge. easy fix!

I also built the glovebox. it could be deeper but with no access underneath it wouldnt be possible to install, besides, its deep enough for GLOVES. :D

did other little stuff, like securing the gas pedal and putting an exhaust turndown on the tailpipe. I need doors for those cabs of waynes, so I called a buddy, he only had SIX. :D

also the guy with the two nice 53s (one ton and a 2 ton) called, was I ever coming to get them? yes, of course, I explained my situation and bought a little time. that blue one ton is well nigh perfect, and I paid up for it because it wont need any rust repair, but I need this other deal to finish.

I hope they enjoy it, it sure was fun.

I picked up the next donor sunday, a nice 2002 4.3 auto ext cab. will need to shorten the frame but I spent up on this one because it needs ZERO front end work, ZERO mechanical work, has a NEW rad. the way I figure it, not having to buy and replace control arms and the rad will make it cheaper than the last truck. I have been driving it around, it runs PERFECT, like the smoothest truck I even had.

still need to get to wayne for a cab or three.

Seeing it going in the trailer has me recalling "it's metal, rubber and glass". [S
Still more than that is leaving.
Well done. Like the next donor. :D
