Updates on the 31. Took it to a show this weekend and it died on me. Acting like there’s no fuel but it’s got half a tank or so. Therefore, I’m going to remove a fuel filter and see if theres any fuel. If not, I’ll see if the pump turns on. If that all works and the filters aren’t clogged, I’ll have to see if maybe the drawtube isn’t low enough and if thats the case, I will put a fitting at the bottom of the tank and re-route the line. Also, the battery keeps dying so once I get it started again, I will have to check to see that the alternator is putting out enough amps/voltage. Also, I still need to order another coolant pump and thermostat to fix my cooling issues. Anyhow, a few pictures of her others have taken at welderup, rukkus, and the show this weekend.

I finally got around to troubleshooting the fuel system today. Pulled the fuel filters and replaced the one see through and blew out the metal one. When I went to bleed the system, I could see water coming from the injector lines. So obviously, I have a major problem. Really, I would not be surprised if the head is cracked. I will eventually have to pull the engine and either rebuild it or I can try to source another that hopefully has a lot less miles. If I were smarter from the get go, I would have just shoved a small block into it. But that is always an option.

Well guys, I finally made a decision. The Mercedes diesel is gonna come out and I’m gonna drop in a Buick V-6 from a CJ-5. Anyhow, I picked up a rolling frame on Saturday with the complete drivetrain still intact for 400 bucks. I’ll have to source a BOP transmission for her but that shouldn’t be too hard to do. So hopefully, I can have the roadster finished by fall and bring the Chevy back into the shop for the engine swap over the winter.
