Rainy Weekend Torque Convertor Change...AGAIN!!!
Well...here goes...over the winter I had a few bugs to fix on the 32...one which was the transmission mount wasn't strong enough and I kept braking the mounting tabs on it where it mounted to the crossmember...so I designed a new mount that would take the torq and the abuse of our really smooth roads we have around here...so in doing so I removed the transmission out the bottom...not happy at all...that was a real pain,had to lift the cab up 4" for clearance issues,un hook the steering column,remove the seats to get at the bolts for the cab,undo the exhaust,etc.....royal pain....anyway once I had the tranny out I thought that I would change out the torque convertor...a buddy of mine had a 3500 stall and I put that in and put everything back together.....That wasn't a good choice of convertor for this little truck....it was like a rubber band that wouldn't tighten up....if you gear drove it and got the revs up it would pull hard but just cruzin around in drive it was terrible....so rainy weekend change only this time I decided to just un hook the motor...M word and pull it ahead abit...way easier this time....I put in a 2200-2500 stall this time and hopefully it will work out...just have to hook everything back up...Sunday's job...not much of a hurry though...pretty soggie around here...one pick shows the stock convertor and a blue 2500-2800 stall and the little black one that I pulled out which was the 3500 stall....also had to unhook the steering rod so I could get the crane close enough....all in all a good day

most of the time I have found that it isn't that much fun to work on some of the stuff for a rat....... When I first got mine it had a trans leak. Thought yea I will just put it on the ramps and be able to see where its at. Nope. Ended up cutting a hole in the trans tunnel to gain access. But other than that they are still good times.

Junior and me cruizin!!!
