ha that's the first thing I said when I opened that air filter was wow that's too much chrome! It is getting scuffed up then sent into the powdercoat booth at work and coming out the other end Black
 
so now for finding or making a better air cleaner ...because of the plug wires hitting, the big chrome air cleaner doesn't even fit. thinking of either the old caddy style or a finned gasser style. well here it is with the new intake manifold and carb. oh and we sprayed the valve covers black to add a little cleaner look

well now that our fire wood is under about 3 ft of snow we moved the truck to a heated garage so we can still make progress. This is the first time it has seen day light in awhile.

worked on the new floor framing this weekend and did a little dreaming by lining up the engine and trans and placing one of the tires in the theoretical spot.

figuring out this frame is proving to be a wicked challenge. the amount of z we need to get it on the ground with the 33 in tires is sooo much.

cut a extra 4 inches off the bottom so now it will be 48.5in to the top when its layed out. Used some wood to picture the frame and made the back half with a 21in z. Then we made some plates to sure up the frame too.[;)

yeah when its all done it will have a hinged wood floor that will lift up to show the suspension and frame. so it will be seen at shows and cruise nights. But most of the time its just a detail that will be hidden.
 
20in Detroit steel wheels, I'm hoping they will be built soon so I can get them mounted and bolt them up to the axel for a better idea of how it's going to look.
 
thanks guys! yeah the bottom 4in was almost all bondo or gone so I figured why not cut it off and I liked it better once we cut it so it was a win win situation. I cant wait to get this thing as a roller so I can start working out the details of everything else but I have to stay focused haha my ADD kicks in everytime we do something I start talking about doing something else.
