Thanks fellas! I'm flattered by your comment Bob, especially coming from you! I'd love to be, but we'd likely starve at the speed I move...lol. That said, I am taking on a paying car in the next couple of weeks. Assembly of a 51 Chev that came apart for a refresh. DW says she's looking forward to it - I'm not sure what that means, I assume she's glad I'll be out of her hair for a while???

Long overdue update!

Sorry fellas, I've been so busy lately that I haven't been keeping up my end of the bargain here with any updates. Truth be told, I've had a few jobs through the shop, some farm related, some car related, so I need to get caught back up here. The tenant that rents the farm likes to beat the crap out of his equipment, so I end up doing some repairs for him - welding, straightening etc. I also agreed to do some final assembly on this Corvette. It got dropped off a week ago and the owner had asked me to finish the car, but I have another hot rod coming in later this week for work so we negotiated and agreed that I'd complete the motor accessories and get it ready to fire - but I was NOT comfortable firing it.
Truck update to follow, but here's a couple pictures of the Vette.

Truck update

Ok, trying to remember where I left off...painted the steering column and installed it. It's really tight at the inner fender and motor mount but I do have clearance and it works well. Shifter is all hooked up now. Brakes are bled and I installed all the fenders. I installed a new lower rad valance, tried to use a nice used one I was sold but it was from a COE so it didn't fit and I had to buy a new one. I wanted to keep the dash looking as stock as possible, so I've installed the electric wiper switch down inside the dash and it's controlled by the choke knob. The original vacuum switch and throttle control are just dummies now but kept the stock look. I've been picking away at the air conditioning now, but it's so bloody hot and humid out that I don't accomplish much these days.

It's looking really good Bill. I don't know how you guys deal with all that heat and humidity down there. Back around 05-06 I was out your way teaching a custom exhaust bending course in mid July down in Niagara Falls. The bender was set up in the front of the shop which was all glass, the humidex was 46c I almost died.

Thanks guys! Little more progress to report. No gauges yet, but apparently they have left Michigan, so I hope to have them sometime this week. Pretty much finished the wiring, obviously no dash wiring yet. Did a little more insulating on the firewall. Grille is in, and I reworked the signal lights so that they are running and signals now. I found a Fulton visor that a buddy of a buddy had, not cheap but it's the real deal and it's even the right colour, so I couldn't say "no". Hopefully I'll make some real headway soon and have some better pictures soon.

Nice visor. I remember pulling those things off and tossing them because they looked like they belonged on grandpa's car. :D
