What do you guys think about the torq thrust vs the stock GM wheels on this project? I think the torq thrust(maybe to low profile)[S make the cab look to big.I mocked up some stock rims I had to see if it would change the proportion some.I would put a taller tire on the stock rims, maybe 25''-28'' OD.The hub cap is just an idea on looks,it's from a 50's olds car.I set a 29'' tire up against the wheel for a visual also.I like the torq thrust but the stock rims are starting to look better to me.

I'm normally a Torque Thrust lover, but gotta say that the last pic with the wheel cover showing just a red lip really looks good.

also looking into some 28''-29'' tall tires that will fit the torq thrust(11'' wide on back and 9.5'' wide on front) just for research ,it will give the tall look but will be about 12'' wide, monsters.Probably really exspensive.....Thanks fella's....

Don't mind the opinions,It is good to talk to people who like/build rodent rides.I think if I can get a taller tire on the torq thrust they would look good.I can only find drag radials 25'' to 26'' tall in a 17 with a 12'' tread width, but they don't last long and don't like rain. The steelies can run a tall tire but will lose some of the handling of the C4 chassis.I'm not gonna be road course racing anyway I guess.Just kickin things around,I think thats one of the best aspects of a build.....thanks fellas

We were just talking about the subject of torque thrusts this past Saturday at a show. I love torque thrusts but not the new torque thrusts. The old ones that were shiny rims and dull aluminum spokes were bitchin', especially on a 60's muscle car. But the repro ones that are out now are too big and too shiny IMO. Too blingy.

On your car they just don't fit the era of the overall look to me, but that is just my opinion and I'm not the guy who is paying your bills. ;):D

yes sir, something about the steelies, the more I look at them pulls me in.Maybe the torq thrust are to much for this build.I want to build something different, not the normal rat rod.Go in a different direction regardless of the standard (rat rod) guidelines. But like alot of you guys,I love the raw satin look of a weathered rod.If I can find tall tires for the torq thrust's maybe, but I do love the vintage hubcaps...thanks buddy....

I guess I'm goin with the wides and torq thrust, got a deal on some HOOSIER pro street radials 31x16.5/17 for the rear, hope they fit in OK.Most rat rods/bobbers I have looked at have the tall thin,I'm going tall/fat so we'll see.Like your wides on your project Bob,cool, but I have always liked wides I guess......

Watch those in the rain. I know a few people who have swapped ends while driving in the wet with those tires. One guy had a nice prostreeter and he said one minute he was going north and the next second he was looking south.
