It's still sponsored by KustomRama. I don't really get into the custom side of things like I do with hot rods, but it definitely pulls 'em in.

As far as the cutoff date, you're right. Someone is always going to complain about anything someone else does, and oddly enough the loudest voices come through keyboards. I don't particularly agree with some decisions they have made in the past but the fact is it's THEIR gig. They're obviously doing something right, or people wouldn't be complaining. Haha.

LOL That's for sure.
I haven't been on the Kustomrama site in a while(Not sure why) as they are crazy about Custom cars. I'll have to check back in with them.
Thanks
Torchie

Well we’ve been chugging along on this and it’s finally starting to look like something. The olive green is turning out to be a great color, and it is going to pop even more once the frame is black. Got the cycle tires mounted up, and some mock-up on the seat and fuel tank. It was pretty fun to sit in and make motor noises. :D

To me this would be so much fun to be a part of and be able

Have you heard what they'll allow you to do on the drive train? It's looking cool!

Thanks! Drivetrain and all parts contained in it have to be pre-1953, no OHV V8s. Pump gas, no alcohol or nitro. We are running the rail class with a 1950 Studebaker Champion 6, which is out for machine work as we speak. Overbore, cam, valve relief, 3 carbs on a log intake and whatever other tricks we come up with. ;)

Cool indeed.[cl :D
I understand that they are requiring roll bars as well now. What's the plan for that?

Yes they are now required, and they are very particular about how they look. We are doing a simple arced hoop over the drivers head, with a shorter but similarly arced hoop in front of the driver to mount the steering gear. There will be a connecting bar on either side between the two hoops.

I'm with forbigpicture...That looks like such fun! Too bad it's so darned far away. Oh, well, I'll have to be content with the Dirt Drags. But TROG is on my bucket list, for sure.:)

Thanks guys! I'm not much of a photographer, but I'll do my best to keep everyone up on the event here. :D

The good thing is we have a very talented video producer who is not only documenting our build progress, but following along with us to TROG. He will be doing all the editing of footage and we should have a very slick little production at the end of this journey!

This event is also our bi-annual World Run for the club, so we will have members from Chapters all over the world in attendance. Always a good time! Even better is we have 4 different Chapters each building cars to compete, so we should have some good grudge matches as well... [cl

Sunday’s work session got the wishbones on both ends anchored, steering arms modified, rear lever shocks adapted, seat mounted and roll bar mocked up. Chugging along on all this while the engine is at the machine shop. Forward progress!

Another work session in yesterday, but not much that was photo-worthy. :p

The roll bar was approved for TROG so we finish welded it. Got the front lever shocks sorted out. Picked up the plasma-cut flanges for the custom 3 carb intake and lakes style exhaust header we are building. Started getting the placement figured out for the Model A steering box, column and 17" four spoke sprint car wheel. Definitely gonna be a tight fit in the driver's hole!

Been a second since i checked in, but we have been thrashing away! Got all the machine work done on the engine and it is reassembled. Wound up at .30 over to clean up the bores. Custom cam re-grind by Isky, and a home brew port & polish job, and hopefully spitting fire soon!

We we had to have everything completely mocked up for our entry submission on the 1st, so the shop has been humming. Glad to be able to show everyone a little progress!

We have also printed up some “support” T-shirts to help raise funds, and they came out great! If anyone is interested in one just shoot me a PM and I will give you the info.

Thanks everyone, getting excited now!!
