Tripper, I've wired cars from scratch all my life and decided to try an aftermarket/hot rod wiring setup when I redid my 27. It really does make it easier.
I am getting closer to the point where I have to wire my 29, but I have boxes and boxes of wire and components (I work in the marine industry) so I probably will use those instead. But, if I didn't have those, I would definitely by a kit, like you have. I figure, this is probably my last car project, so I better use up what I have or my sons will be inheriting all of it. |

Don, I've seen some of the ones you've made... beautiful work. I'm not a wiring wizard but have been able to use Rebel Wire harnesses successfully & if I run into trouble... Bob & Jeremy always bail me out!. Can't wait to fire the big boy up!!!

I agree with you that a really nice feature is the purpose of each wire being printed on them. If you ever have to go back and trace a problem, you aren't looking at a bunch of spaghetti and wondering where each wire goes.

When I wired my 46 I used a Painless kit. I learned a lot, and while I'm not sure what company I would go with I know I wouldn't wire a car without a kit again. I think every kit has its pros and cons, but the troubleshooting and time saved by spending a little money on a kit is well worth it.

I've done the old one wire at a time process and I'm sold on the aftermarket wire harnesses.
