![]() One nice thing about the modified fenders being on opposite sides of the car, you can't see both at the same time. ![]() |

Working on the rocker covers today, bent from 18ga. sheet on 3 sides then welded on one edge. The act of welding it put just the right curve in it to match the rocker, purely lucky coincidence. Capped on the ends and nuts welded to the back, got one finished.

I like that much better than running boards. The curve was a nice little surprise!

A small distraction from the Packard build, my Hennway developed tranny issues, going from 1st right to 3rd (Turbo 400). Called by tranny wizard friend for a diagnosis, sounded like an intermediate clutch prob. Took it out and brought it to him, turns out the lugs in the case that hold a big snap ring were blowing out, letting things almost going into destruct mode. Swapped to another T400 case, everything else inside was in great shape - thanks buddy!

Wow, lucky you have a buddy to make the swap for you! Glad it was relatively simple.

I've always felt the headlights sit up too high on these cars, so I got busy today and carved out a new set of pedestals from 1/8" plate and 18ga sheet, 3 1/2" lower. That's more like it....
