Below are pics from this Friday at Rock Falls Raceway. About 150 early style gassers, altered super stocks and dragsters had a great time in spite of the temp being in the mid 50's. I couldn't drive my dragster so my friend Dave did. It rand pretty well. Larry (Sheets and Giggles altered) from Winnipeg was running low 8's, and that was on licensing passes. His build is featured here on UDS. Anywhoo, enjoy the pics. If anybody has any questions I'll try to answer them.

More cars. This event and the bigger Meltdown Drags in Byron, Illinois ( produced by the same group of enthusiasts) are the two best events of the year.

A few more from Friday. The last one above is Larry's. The Prefect and Scout are brothers from Winnipeg and are Larry's friends.

Here's the last of Friday's pics. The orange roadster above has a 292 Chevy 6 and is a finely crafted car.
Dang Smalls, I spotted another of your kin that strayed up north. The guy on the left must be a distant relative judging by his meager chin whiskers.

A cold, cloudy Saturday

Here's some more shots, some from the staging lanes. That's Terry and Lee with their low 10 second shortened Studebaker, Tator. They're member shere.

The green hemi powered coupe runs gas on the street and nitro at the track. He had trouble getting down the track. The cold air had several cars running personal records.

Thanks for posting the pics. I'm impressed by the numbers and quality of nostalgia drag cars from Wisconsin. Must have been a sale on superchargers.[S

That green coupe also went on drag week. Blew a headgasket and torched the head so he didn't make it all week. There's some vids of it on Utube, wicked sounding, just like a top fuel car!

Thanks for all the pics BobW!

Great pictures Bob. That red Willys that you posted just before the picture of Sheets belongs to Gary Misko, another member of our group. We had four cars there this year.

It was really great to see you again and get a chance to chat. And I enjoyed getting to know Dave a little better as well.

My three runs on Friday were ok - mid 8's and 160 mph so I got all I needed for the licensing process. I already had an IHRA license but needed to get the NHRA one so that I can run at their tracks to.

I got completely sideways at mid track on the one run I made on Saturday and decided that if I kept trying I would only hurt the car (or myself). The track was just to cold for me to get down it safely. And trying to cure the lean pop and dead cylinder started to get a little to frustrating.:confused: Got to try figure out what happened this winter.
