Thank the Gods, somebody saved it! That's kind of sarcasm, but it is a piece of automotive history.

Here's a little write up about it and the maker: http://www.curbside.tv/blog/2016/10/9/1958-aurora-car-crazy-priest-dreams-of-auto-safety

"Though arriving hours late, the Aurora caused a sensation at its unveiling, but not in a good way. Its ungainly styling was met with reactions ranging from head scratching dismay to outright derision."

Not to my taste but.......
Look at that picture of the builder and all of the work he put into making the frames for that fiberglass body.
We should all have that kind of passion and dedication. [cl [cl  [cl

Yeah, you have to applaud the work, craftsmanship and determination required to create, ummm, it but it's too bad nobody took the guy aside and told him he was taking a hard left onto ugly street....

It deserves to be saved, even if the exercise in styling is poor by todays standards. A lot of things from that era were. Just try and watch a 1958 movie all the way through. Generally painfull. Even some of the crap we did in the 70s, hijacked rear ends with stupid offset wheels sticking out of the body lines, lace table cloth paint jobs ugly ridiculous custom cars like the Druid Princess and the toilet or pool table era stuff Roth was doing and we hail him as the God of customs???? He built some way uglier stuff than that bubble boy car.

Some of the design were for safety reasons. Like the bubble front window - you won't hit your head on the windshield in a crash. The front lower lip - to catch pedestrians if hit.
