I just listened to your music on myspace. Very nice! Late at night I sample tunes on Youtube. I'll stop at your space often too.

hey rev. tex! give me a shout when ya come back thru little rock....i might try to catch ya and buy you a meal--(the best mickey-D has to offer)
i'm in LR almost every thurs&fri........

.....been taking a few lessons on the giutar, trying to learn "finger picking" (as a bodyman that never wore a dust mask, my idea of finger picking was a little wrong) anyway there is alot to be said about the 3 rules to learn guitar

1. get a guitar
2. pick up the guitar
3. never put down the guitar

every time i learn something new, i realize how little i really do know

I dont have a lick of musical ability but my youngest son amazes me. I think its just being a dad that makes me so proud of him but he can hear a song and go to the piano and literaly play it in 2 or 3 tries without missin a beat. Alot of people can probably do this but I cant so Im stickin with THE KID ROCKS!

To the original question - I have played guitar and bass since I was ~ 10 yrs old. I'm no standout as a player, pretty average, but I do love it. I play mainly in the blues box in the good ol' pentatonic scale, or sometimes harmonic, 12 bar blues - aside from all my old rock standards. I have an overgrown collection of guitars (12 - 3 acoustics and 9 electrics of all varieties, plus a beaut of an 1971 P-Bass).

My kids both play as well, they've got the bug!! My son has the best axe in the house - a honeyburst Gibson LP with burstbucker pickups. All played through Marshall and Peavey tube amps. The Peavey Classic 50 410 is one of my favourite amps, nice and warm and rumbly.

The kids are all over the musical spectrum - and have opened up my eyes with stuff to play. They like everything from Johnny Cash to Buckethead to Neil Young to Alice in Chains to George Strait and Taylor Swift.
