I love the looks of Anglias also but why are the top choice for gassers?
Can't any body-style auto be considered a gasser if it has all the right components?

Willys, Anglia, Austin and such were widely used as gasser fodder because they were light and cheap. I'm speaking of the gassers in their heyday of the 60's. Sure anything could be used as a gasser but in order to compete you would not have used a big heavy car, at least not in the top classes. If you drop down into classes such as C/Gas and D/Gas, you would find more of a variety of body styles. Despite what most people think now days, most gassers were not nose high, blown, mile high monsters. Those were just the most highly visible cars that received the most exposure. In fact at the inception of the gas classes, gassers were just street cars that were too modified to qualify for the stock class guidelines. Something as simple as headers or dual exhaust could have put a car into a gas class. If you haven't already, do some studying over at www.gassermadness.com for a history of the rules and lots of pictures. You might be surprised at some of the rules that were in place for much of the time the gas classes existed. Much of what is thrown out there today about gassers is inaccurate at best. Gasser Madness gets it right.

Gabby Bleeker AA/FA

Thanks, guys.
Next to the Winged Express, my favorite AA/FA was Gabby Bleeker's Bantum.
