glad to see the progress,

Box is home

Kept both rear cab mount brackets. May need em. No power available, torch and hammer handy. Could have used a battery powered cut off wheel.

Down here, they get as much as some places get for running stuff, just for the bed. Last 2 I viewed last nite, one had a price of 600 on it, (AD bed) and the other for 1000,(32 Ford).

Inside

Took 2 years to find it. Once dug out, had to move it quick.

pulled the 82 chassis donor box

attachment.php

Installed the rear axle from the 85. The 82 chassis is in better condition. The 85 goes back in the barn for now. May use it on another project.

cab removal

attachment.php

Pulled the cab and front clip together with the engine hoist. It seems to work
well. Supported the front with a lifting strap and my new chain hoist. Should have bought a chain hoist years ago.

Looks unbalanced, but nice and stable with the lifting strap secured to the front clip from above.

Measuring begins with the 52 Pilot

attachment.php

The slant 6 is 31 inches front to back including the stock fan. You were right Skull. I will need to be creative with the radiator or firewall. I can gain space with a new radiator, and perhaps work the firewall a bit with the slant 6 off set.

aw schucks:eek:

positive you will make it work[;)

same problem with the pilothouse car hauler l am putting on the motorhome chassis with the big block chevy, room is at a premium for the cooling system.

Later:cool:

Eliminating the stock fan from the engine and using an electric pusher fan will save a few precious inches. I ended up going that way with my 39.

looking good! figuring stuff out is my nirvana, I am extremely jealous of your conundrum haha.

looks like your experience pulling with a cherry picker was a good one, the first time I pulled a cab it took 6 people! now I can do it myself. you pulled the cab with the clip installed! I have never done that!

I just got a christmas deal on a 19x21 aluminum crossflow WITH a 16" puller s blade fan for $145. I think thats less than speedways 19x22 (which has an angled lower outlet, angled toward the engine!) plus shipping. :D
