I was trying to get the 1985 Ford 5.0 in my project fired up using parts I have laying around last night, and was going to make an adapter to use a 500 CFM Holly 2bbl I had left over from a hobby class dirt car. To my suprize, the bolt pattern for the carb and the Throttlebody injection are the same!

A $45 E-bay Procomp HEI Dizzy and a little issue with blocking off an exhaust port in the intake and I have it set up for carberation.

I'm a fan of EFI--I just don't have another MS built, and this is all stuff I Have on hand.

I like it when its easy (N Cheep)--Life is good..

I think the 85 302 was a flat tappet engine, so it would have a cast iron cam. I think that's the right material. When they went to roller cams, the material was steel. My point is they each require compatilble distributor gear material. If you haven't, you may want to check which you have. I understand, if not matched they will eat the teeth off.

glad to see a Ford getting some time.

85 mustang HO motors were roller...throttle body cars i think were flat-tappet

if using a roller motor w/carb the 85 ho distributor is what i recommend using
