im converting a 41 Plymouth over to 12v.,im looking for a starter to replace this one, flat 6 with 3 speed. owner wants to get rid of the foot pedal and go to key switch for starter. anybody been down this road? any help would be appreciated, im sure somebody has done this.thanks ahead of time, bruce.

Grab a firewall solenoid off a older Ford. (new replacements are Chinese junk) and use the 6v starter. Like Old Iron said, the 6v starter should do fine - just don't crank it too long.

I would do that except the starter drive is moved by the foot pedal to engage it to the ring gear,so remote solenoid wont help me. need a starter with internal driven bendix with a remote or starter mounted solenoid. thanks guys.
