I believe this was a west coast car

Looks like the old Mission Raceway? (zzrodder?)

"Double A" Dale Armstrong, originally from Holden AB. (Won US Nationals 1975 with this car.)

Dale's altered Chevy II

Before moving to SoCal, he ran this car (with the roof intact) at Shepard Raceway, Calgary AB

From my home track in Saskatoon. I believe this is Les Davenport from Calgary. (Notice the concession booth in the background, painted to look like a carton of Player's cigarettes. :D)

Same place. Jim Bell from Edmonton... that's JB Automotive/JB Power Center's Jim Bell. (attn: snopro)

attachment.php

Also above, behind JB's roadster, our friends the From Brothers with their E/A. They set several national records with that car and it later became my friend Charlie's QCR entry. (We won a track championship with the same car in '96. :p :D)

In the background, notice the bent fence rails, courtesy of several hundred butts perched.

EDIT: I missed one! I think this was an island car, as in Vancouver Island. (?)

I'll bet you wish you could go back to that era. I do.

Yes, the Olds was a Jim Lutz and Myron Lundberg creation. A very heave altered wheelbase machine. They were much more successful with their A/Gas Anglia, winning national events.

Jim's ashes were packed in the chute of Greg Benson's Altered and at the finish line Jim became part of Brainerd International Raceway.

This is either the Possum Chaser Crosley or a recent copy.

I surely wish I could go to the '60's and take a few friends with me. I can imagine our little team of animals cut loose with a few barrels of "fuel"... like lunatics among the lunatics running the asylum. [ddd

I knew those guys were your friends. Thank You very much for the full story.

Thanks for the video as well. It would be cool to see your "Turkey Farm" run Possum Chaser, huh? Do you still have it?

Hey Doc ... FYI the Possum Chaser is alive and well. Owned by Ron Green. I last saw him at last year's Fallout race at Rock Falls Raceway in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
