bed??

so when are ya putting on the bed[S

if no stock one is available there is a lot of makes from other manufacturers, the beds are all about the same from the 1940's on up till the 1970's and will look good. may have to adjust the fenders and or fender style, but again single axle trailer fenders give a lot of options these days.

l found a step side box at CL that someone made a trailer out of and l got it cheap-cheap-cheap for one of my projects.

Later

Hey Skull
I am going to finish up some things on the front end, then will do the bed afterwards. I have the matching bed for it, full of the samecharacter as well. It's a long bed so I'll need to shorten it and the running boards.

Have't posted in a very long time, mainly because I have't been able to work on it. The wife went away on a business trip, so I played hookie from work for two days and shortened and installed the bed (mostly). Still needs a floor and a little more reinforcement, but I'm super happy with the giant chunk of progress I made. Need to get my bumpers on and shorten/install the running boards next!

Got the bed support under the tailgate back on and added some blue dot tail lights. Still a little more cleanup to do on some previous farm mods (mainly remove the pointy remains of the angle iron I had to cut off the top of the stake pockets), then I'll mock up the rear bumper and decide if I will run it or not, then running board shortening and install, bed flooring, and on and on :)

Rear bumper is on and tucked up close. Cleaned up some angle iron that I had to hack off at the top of the rear stake pockets too. Working on the bed floor now, then I'll work towards the front!

Another update. Lots accomplished since last time.
Finally finished properly wiring/looming up my front lighting and using a real relay for the radiator fan now. Added a rear view mirror (vintage) I can see out of. Built the bed wood and stained it. Has access doors for the tank and battery. Front bumper mounted. The fulton I bought two years ago finally installed. Had to get a little creative with the dog bone mounts but I love how it sits...

Lookin' good. Pics of your fuel and battery access doors would be great. They are well hidden. How are they hinged?

I guess Door is a an incorrect word. They are more like panels, no hinges. Just holes to pull em out with. I'll grab some pics and post up :)

Here are some bed panel pics...
