If I had the bread. That big old beast would be in my yard right now.:D

I'm sure it would. :D

Call it the power of suggestion, or simply raised awareness, I've seen a few local ads that bring you to mind immediately. Most recently, a '52 Desoto with a pristine grille. It looked clean, solid and complete... sold lightning quick @ $1500.

Seems like the often neglected Mopars are being less neglected these days,Doc.
I think part of it is pricing. They areusually priced less then their Ford and GM counterparts. Then..... you find out that parts are 3 times as much as the Ford and GM counterparts.😳
I guess it all shakes out in the end.😎

I’d take out that rear door and shorten it up into a quasi club coupe, or Mopar Victoria.:D

And get rid of that toothy grille. I hate toothy grilles.....

For some reason DeSoto teeth look better on other cars, Bama.😳😎
As far a the rear doors.... I’ve always loved suicide rear doors so it would leave them.
I suspect I would look at around a 3 inch chop with perhaps going as much as 4 at the A pillar.
No section. Lol
Drop it down evenly and perhaps skirts.
And yes. Do something with the grill. Or at least the mustache.
The ultimate low rider limo?????
The gears are grinding..... 😎

Lol. Exactly. Not much on the top end put a real”stump puller” at the start, as we used to say.
This one most likely has Mopars biggest 6 in it
I chopped my Dodge 3 inches at the A pillar knowing that I was probably going to section it. Anything more then 3-4 and they look squashed to me.

I was watching a show on the History Channel this past weekend on American cars. They said the head of Chrysler believed a man should be able to sit and drive with his hat on, thus the tall tops. They also said it cost Chrysler sales as everyone else was dropping the top lines and getting sleeker while Chrysler stayed stumpy looking. I forget what the guys name was, but they said he was stubborn like Henry Ford and hated change....

I've watched the mini-series a few times over... "The Cars That Made America".

Mopar styling of that era has been referred to as “2 box” styling. Bama.
As in one long box with another shorter box stacked on top of it.😳
Their big selling point was their engineering.

Well , I don't get to see much TV, Dr C. It might have been on several times before I got to see it. Most of the time that's the way it works out for me. :( I miss seeing a lot of cool stuff everybody else gets to see. Maybe when I retire I can see stuff more often......if I can get it off the cartoon channels!:D

Torchie, it does look like a hat box sitting on a suitcase.
