Just out of curiosity what gauge sheet metal are you using to make that body?

I'm using 20 ga. on this one - easier to form and bead roll than 18 ga. also lighter weight - downside is that its easier to dent and more prone to oil canning from all the welding.

Are you making poster board patterns for the sheet metal panels? Another A+ build, zz.

Nah, I just cut roughly to size, form, trim to fit, then weld in. It's easier to form oversize panels, especially when curves are near edges.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback :)
Mounted the headlights today, leftover King Bees I bought for the 36 Packard to use as driving lights then nixed the idea. Now that I look at the pics, they sit too high [S need to lower them an inch...
Wifey bought the fancy steering wheel so I bought a cheapie ebay steering column that came with a floor mount and column drop and installed it plus made the steering linkage using the golf cart U-joints adapted to the 1"DD column end.

Made and mounted the hood side panels and started making the hood top - lots more fitting and trimming to do on it. I also cut the headlight mounts off and re-located them 1 inch lower - looks better I think...[S

That's impressive ZZ. How are you bending your square tubing?

I splurged on a tubing roller a few years ago, you can see it in the background in the first of the last pics posted - the blue standup thingee. Saves major time and effort.

Suicide doors?

Looks amazing!

Yes, suicide doors, getting the hinges tomorrow.

Finished the door frames and got the skins welded on both doors, still need to grind/sand the welds. I carried on the bead rolling on the doors to give them more of a Model T look. I made the mounts for the bear claw latches - since the doors are only 1" thick, they will get a 'bubble' on the inside to accommodate the mechanisms. Hinges will be weld on stainless ones like for a toolbox so the doors can just lift off like a Jeep.

Cleaned up the welds on the doors, mounted the hinges and installed the latches, using 32 Ford PU handles.
Got most of the pickup box made, corner posts are 1x1" tube, rounded the lower ends and tapered and angled the top ends to match the angle of the side tops, 3/4" tube for the top roll. Still need to make the tailgate and mount it but this is basically where it will sit.
