so i started the task of repairing the rotted out cab on my truck. driver side first!

i removed the door(had some rott on the lower hinge! had to cut it) and fender. then i cut out the rocker, the floor panel, the foot plate, and the front cab mount.

i started to mock up the new sheet metal i got from from lmc truck here locally.

btw, the 3rd pic is the lower hinge i had to cut from the door. so i gotta replace 1/2 the hinge and plate the door shell.

WOW! I thought the cab on my S-Truck was air conditioned... Good job cuttin' out and mocking up so far.

I've bought a few bits and pieces for mine from LMC, mostly positive feelings towards them. Their customer service is FANTASTIC and the only tin I've bought from them that I'm not 100% happy with is my cab corners. Being an extended cab, they didn't bother to stamp 'em, they're just folded on a brake! The part I need (the VERY bottom edge) will work ok though.

Keep on truckin' and keep us posted!

Regards,
Shea:)

lol, thanks guys. the 66 is a bit of a rust bucket, but the frame is in good shape, and i paid $500 for it. i figure the 350 and 700 r4 is worth that alone.
the truck came with most all the replacment panels. i picked up the floor boards yesterday from lmc.
anyways, they sure loved using rivets on these old chevys! drives me nuts.

ill keep you all updated with the progress. got some more parts in today, headers and trans cooler!!
now just waiting on the drive shaft to get done, and its operational.
