1950 chevy Bel-air in the making

Of course there is more to come.. so a little preview...

I picked up an old Mr.Gasket 3 - speed Shifter I'm going to convert to an auto shifter for the 700R-4 that is in the Chevy... I thought this was pretty cool, I was going to leave it rusty looking, but I derided to clean it up a little, I like the shifter shape.. plus I have another I may swap with it, that bolts up just to change things up a little....

Very cool ride! Liking the work so far.

OOOOOOOOO... That 327 is BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I finally got to drive he 50 yesterday.....

That 327 SCREAMS.... plenty of power, I think that and the 50 chevy is lighter than my 64 C-10... I think I may take it across the scales just to see how much it weighs...lol....

I'm going to do some wiring this weekend and maybe even get the front bumper mounted[.... There is a local show I may even tool over to :-D

It's always more fun to drive it than work on it! Congrats.
A good running short stroke 327 is a hoot.

I agree with POPs, driving beats working. The more i see the profile the more it needs a lower roof line [cl

What a weekend!!



That's right all smiles! After a wonderfully blessed time at the men's breakfast with some guys from the church, I headed out to the show..... only after fixing a radiator leak and bolting the front fenders down and cutting my finger by running a screw through it (That one is for you Torchie)...

Cranked her up and drove the 6 miles to the show, it was a really good turn out, more vehicles than last year, and all the proceeds went to the little church down there, so it was a blast...

When I pulled in I was amazed at all the people flocking to the car people were crawling all over it for about an hour I'd guess.... lots of thumbs up and whoo hoo.. it was a pretty good feeling!

Did make some progresss

So... I made some progress on the Chevy before the show....

I got the LED tail lights working, I think they look decent, and definitely allow people to see me

I also did a mock up of the front bumper, still going to have to make brackets to hang it, but that is coming soon!

Picked up some swag from the show... this is the 1st thing I have ever won, so I'm super excited about my 1st piece of hardware

Had some sweet carnage on the return trip home! Flex fan cut through the radiator and broke off 3 of the 6 blades! Also broke a muffler hanger and drug a flowmaster about 50 feet. ( I must say it was an explosive end to a fun day...

Picked up another daily driver/fuel saver a bit better on gas than the old 2500

That's all for now.... as far as the 50 it's time for a radiator swap and i'll probably be going to the electric fans I have stored up.... will also look at mounting the front fenders better, possibly flaring them to clear the slotted mags, or I will have to change to a different wheel... Much more to come...[

You know I got best in Show.... that probably would have ensued a mob chasing me out of the parking lot.... I think it was best incomplete??? I was too busy looking at other rides and did hear them call me until my buddy was like, you just won this lol...... I think I was in my own world....

Wow.... life just happened

I'm still here... things got crazy.... my mom was diagnosed with cancer after a routine physical... the doctors removed the tumor the following week that enclosed her kidney... so she's also down a kidney, but she is recovering well. My father was diagnosed with prostate cancer earlier this year... so it's been a bit of a roller coaster.

Just got around to ordering a new radiator that I hope will fit the 50 better than the one from the caprice... In the mean time I may work on some brackets to better hold the front end on the caprice frame

Wishing you and you're parents the best.......been there.
