Went to a car show at the Star casino near Mulvane Kansas. When we got there I found out that the cub promoting it did not have a Rat rod class. That didn't stop quite a few from showing up. Some Gassers invaded the show and caused quite a stir also. We had a good time none the less! Here are a few notable at the show from my perspective.



This Ranchero blew me away for some reason.

This Catalina was built by a local builder many years ago. It has quite a history and is being restored by it's new owner. I really dug this car.

Lots of originality there and that Ranchero does a Ford lovers heart good!
The Pontiac looks like a Starbird creation. The black and white painted wheels on the '62 were popular in the '50's before flipper hubcaps became available.Thanks for sharing your pics TW. :cool:
 
I think the original builder of the Cat was named Stucky although Darrell Starbird lived in Mulvane for many years before moving. I sometimes see Starbird's son who is a friend of a friend.
It was about 100 degrees here in Kansas with a ton of humidity. Good thing the wind blows like it almost always does here. The 53 ran about 220 degrees with the wind and 200 against it out on the highway at 70 mph but never got over that.
