Got the roof on 3 weekends ago. Got the doors in. Waiting on windows. All window orders around here anymore are all custom orders. Gone are the days you can find enough in a builders supply store to do a whole house no matter how simple you make it. We're not doing bad for a couple of flatland hillbillies. Junior claims we started the building the day we poured the footer...April 10. Not yet 5 months. That's 2 days on the weekend and what hours we can squeak in when he gets in from work during weekdays. Here's some pix:

Thanks guys! It's not a big house but the way it's built will appear roomy. That vaulted ceiling runs from the kitchen/dining area all the way thru the pool hall. It will be open from one end to the other. Walking in the kitchen door you will be looking thru the whole house out the back french doors. I don't believe once we get thru that me or Jr either one will ever have to make any structural repairs. That roof will still be going after we are dust. Wind storms....well. The top three courses of block are laced with horizontal rebar and poured solid. That's the top 2 feet. Along with that, every 3rd vertical cell in the block is rebarred and poured to the footer. I don't want to temp fate because momma nature can do her thing but we laugh and say it'll go all in one piece...
