I didn't know they were making tanks out of gold. what was wrong with the old one? is it a plastic one or is it a steel one?

it was a steel one but they have a plastic on the back of it that traps mud, rocks etc. so the buildup and vibration put a hole in it

Weld up the hole. just make sure you purge it of fuel and fumes first.
